Very clean, updated rooms. Even the windows were new. Pretty far from the city but drivable.

By far the best Simply Suites I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Location is great as it's right off the interstate, there is a grocery store and food places less than a half mile from hotel. You can get anywhere with in a five mile radius for food, dining, shopping or entertainment. The staff is very attentive,the parking lot is well lite and the rooms are very spacious.

Budget place, you get what you pay for, renovated place, smells good, new management has done a decent job, seasoned travelers will know that it needs more work as it clearly shows in places like rusty shower heads, creaky bath tubs, nothing is bad. Room is neat and clean, mattresses are all clean. Location is a definite plus point, close by eateries and shopping in five to ten mins drive max. Some things for travelers to know: No housekeeping when you stay for 1 - 4 days Parking is $5 per day, they have a security guard who is always on the phone No kitchen, so no breakfast Small gym, will meet your needs for a day or two

Chose this hotel as my home base for a 4-night stay exploring Austin. I wanted a kitchen and a nice room. Was nervous because of the great price, but due to the recent renovation and convenient location, I booked it. Not gonna lie, I was nervous! Highly recommend this hotel. Pros: Staff was fantastic! The rooms are as nice as the website's pictures. Everything was immaculately clean. Shower was hot with great water pressure. Kitchen was stocked. Fridge was cold and ice maker worked great (note: they don't have ice machines and you'll need to switch the ice maker on when you arrive if you want ice). You can check out additional kitchen items. Laundry machines. Secure building. Wifi worked great. Cons: You get to unload the dishwasher upon arrival as they don't put the dishes up for you. I only got 2 of each utensil so had to do a lot of handwashing. Gym was too to use warm. Single elevator is kinda slow. Housekeeping was upon request. Tips: Find dishes in the dishwasher, not the drawer. Turn on the ice maker. Make sure your door is fully shut when coming/going. Bring coffee filters and grounds (or the hotel style pods) if you want to make extra coffee. There's a Keurig for use in the lobby (bring your own pods). Safety: I was a solo female traveler. The building was secure and I felt safe. Parking lot felt sketchy. Signage made me uneasy about vehicle theft. However, one morning I was out at 5am re-organizing my belonging in my truck bed and a patrol person drove up to ensure it was my vehicle. I loved that.

We booked a room because we had a medical appointment in Austin but following day. Up on finding out that our appointment was canceled, Brittany, a first shift manager, and Mary Grace with Booking.com were very helpful and helping us rectify our booking situation. Being that both the hotel manager and the booking.com representative was so gracious and they attempts to help us we would definitely be using this facility on our trips to Austin in the future.

We stayed in August on weekdays. The rooms had a kitchen stocked with everything you need to make food. It had a stovetop, sink, full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker. The cups, plates and silverware were in the dishwasher. It was quiet. The staff was super helpful and nice. The rooms have little things wrong - like you have to wiggle the door handle a bit before it will open or the bathroom door won't close all the way. The A/C worked well. The rooms are nicely decorated. There is a gym and laundry. There is no breakfast served. It is right on the frontage road for the I-35 so I personally wouldn't want to be out at night. The area is industrial so not a lot of businesses open after close of business. The parking lot is pretty well lit. There is a front desk person all the time. It was a good room for the price. We would come back.

Really happy with my stays here (2x now), beds are comfortable, property is quiet, free laundry is an excellent benefit as I've been on the road for a while. Appreciative for the full size refrigerator and kitchen setup. Bathroom is sizeable, and both stays, was very clean. Staff is friendly, and I've had no issues in the parking lot. Easy to access anything you need by car. Absolutely a great value for the money.

I was a little hesitant booking this place because it’s right by the freeway and there isn’t much around it, but I was pleasantly surprised. I felt completely safe during my stay. There is security on site and a 24-hour person at the door, which made a big difference. The rooms were very clean and it was impressively quiet. I had no issues at all with check-in or check-out. I also traveled with a service dog, and everything went smoothly. I had my documentation ready and experienced no issues at check-in or during my stay. There is also a small, nice gym, which was great for getting out of the room and moving around a bit. For the price point, this is easily a five-star stay. I was initially concerned it might be unsafe or poorly maintained, but none of that was the case. Overall, a great experience and I would absolutely stay here again at Sonesta Simply Suites Austin South.
